POST-CARE INSTRUCTIONS
INJECTABLE FILLER
Injectable Filler treatments are minimally invasive and have minimal downtime. Some people do experience bruising, swelling, tenderness, numbness and areas of firm nodules to the injected areas following treatment.
There are some precautions you should take after receiving the injections, including:
- You can use an ice pack to reduce swelling for the first 24-48 hours following treatment.
- Do not massage, touch or manipulate the injection sites.
- Avoid exposure to sunlight because heat from the sun can promote flushing and increase your blood pressure, which can lead to bruising.
- Avoid alcohol as this can thin your blood and cause bruising/bleeding.
- Avoid blood thinning medications such as NSAIDs (Aspirin, Motrin, Advil, Naproxen, etc) as these can also lead to bruising/bleeding.
- Avoid vigorous activity, exercise, straining or heavy lifting for at least 24 hours.
- Avoid excessive heat including tanning, hot tubs/baths, or saunas.
- Keep your skin clean and avoid makeup to the treated areas for at least 24 hours as this can cause pustules.
- If you must take anything for discomfort, please take Acetaminophen (Tylenol).
- Avoid dental work or vaccines for 14 days following treatment.
- Avoid sleeping on your side or stomach for 24 hours post-treatment to avoid manipulating the product – we recommend you sleep with your head elevated to decrease swelling.
- Injectable fillers are long lasting, but not permanent – longevity depends on the areas treated and your body’s metabolism.
