We are thrilled to be amongst the first medical rejuvenation practices in Western Massachusetts to now offer CoolPeel laser treatments! CoolPeel is an innovative way to safely, and comfortably, deliver the benefits of a traditional CO2 resurfacing treatment.
CoolPeel is a fractionated and full field CO2 laser all in one. What that means is that it is strong enough to be used as a surgical device, but can be customized to provide a service as light as a good exfoliating peel. One of our providers will customize your treatment based on the health of your skin, the amount of downtime you have and your commitment to skin preparation, after care and sun avoidance.

What is CoolPeel?
Cool Peel is a brand new way to safely, and comfortably deliver the benefits of a traditional CO2 resurfacing treatment. By targeting just the superficial layer of skin, damaged skin is removed revealing younger and healthier-looking skin.
What makes CoolPeel different?
CO2 lasers are the gold standard in treating aging skin. Damaged skin tissue is removed, or ablated, stimulating new collagen production, and heat energy is delivered to tighten the skin. That may sound great, but CO2 treatments are often accompanied by considerable downtime and risk while damaged skin heals. Many advances have been made to improve the side effects of CO2 treatments but ONLY the CoolPeel can deliver a fractional ablative treatment without the long downtime. There is minimal risk of hyperpigmentation, demarcation, or induced infection.
Who is a candidate for CoolPeel?
You are a good candidate for a CoolPeel laser treatment if you are looking to reduces the appearance of fine lines and sun damage, minimize pores, and improves skin texture. Your skin will look healthier and younger.
What does it feel like?
A CoolPeel Laser treatment is fairly painless and can be done with no numbing or can follow 25 minutes of numbing and our signature LED LIGHTSTIM treatment. The treatment itself, takes as little as ten minutes.
Is there any downtime?
One of the main benefits of a CoolPeel is that there is minimal downtime. You should expect to be a little red, as if you have a sunburn, for a day, or two, but nothing should prevent you from returning to your normal daily activities. CoolPeel requires a completely occlusive dressing the day of the procedure; we suggest Alastin SOOTHE & PROTECT. We suggest patients plan ahead for this and be sure that their treatment day allows for this, and can be a mask free day following treatment. Your skin may feel dry and scaly as it heals, as well, so it is important to continue to keep the skin hydrated. We will suggest a skin care products and a follow-up protocol, and let you know when you can return to you regular skin care routine.
Does it work and when will I see results?
Yes! We offer Cool Peel as a stand alone treatment, but for a full result, we recommend a package of three to five treatments, spaced three to fours weeks apart. Skin rehabilitation takes time; there will be an almost immediate noticeable improvement in the skin, but full skin rehabilitation takes time. Noticeable improvement will be seen over a three-month period after the final treatment, as the process of collagen regeneration increases over time.
